First Month at RedEye

June 24th - July 24th 2019

On Monday June 24th I started at RedEye International. I was extremely nervous, yet excited about my new job. Everyone was really nice and friendly. I was taken round the buildings by Goodyear and met everyone. I met my team leader and fellow peers.

My first week consisted of a lot of meet and greets. I would introduce myself to people and they would introduce themselves to me. I finally got the chance to sit down with my manager and have a chat, we even went on a walk around Crewe Hall. I really like how relaxed RedEye is a business. There was a lot of paperwork that I had to fill out with Chris this week and I got to meet Emma (my Escalla tutor) for the first time!

I started at the same time as a girl called Liv. This really helped as we were both in the same position. We have been going on walks together during our breaks.

My first month was very 'meeting heavy'. I have done lots of training and have learnt things I never thought I would learn. For example I never thought this time last year I would be learning how to code! Now I have completed the training needed, I get to work on my own clients. Chris has been teaching me how to communicate with them effectively. I have spent a lot of time shadowing what he does.

I feel confident when speaking to clients and have even joined a conference call. Conference calls occur weekly with my different clients.

My peer Lewis (previously an Escalla Apprentice), has been teaching me the data behind email unsubscribes. It's been fairly confusing but it's making more sense each day.

I have been spending a lot of time learning code (with the help of Chris and by using Code Academy). I wanted to do some independent learning because it is very tricky to get the hang of. I have started using my knowledge to help with client questions. I even get to make some small email changes.

All in all, my first month at RedEye has been exciting - I look forward to seeing how I get on in the next few months!
